Two-way radio repair covers a multitude of diagnostic problems. The average cost to have a radio inspected and repaired is approximately $150. This typically includes internal parts, but does NOT include removable parts such as batteries, antenna and clips.

When you send a radio to us for repair, you should expect that the cost may be $150 + return shipping fees. This does not mean that all repairs cost $150. Minor repair issues will be billed at the lesser amount. When our technician estimates that a repair will exceed $150, we do not proceed with the repair until we contact you for authorization.
When considering repair, assuming the repair service will cost $150 + shipping, you should factor in battery, antenna and clip condition. If these items also need replacement, you may find it more prudent to just purchase a new radio.
Important! - When you send a radio for us to repair, this authorizes us to repair your radio, not to exceed $150 + shipping, without any further authorization from TwoWayRadio.com. In some cases, there may be a diagnostic fee not to exceed $35. This occurs when a technician has to spend time repairing one thing before finding other problems. In certain cases, you may be billed up to $35 for diagnostic work, even though it is later deemed, that a radio is not worth repairing.
A common problem for two-way radios is the battery failing. Two-way radio batteries typically last 18 to 24 months depending on chemistry and use. Troubleshooting the battery and charger first may prevent unnecessary repair costs.
When sending a radio for repair, send us the radio body, the battery and the antenna. Do not include the charger, clip or other external accessories not related to the problem.
